The Year is Wrapping Up, and Looking Forward to New Beginnings

It's the middle of December, and there is stuff I need to update on since my last post.
I'm now officially in my third trimester. This upcoming Saturday will mark 30 weeks. My belly's getting bigger and more pronounced. It's weird to think it's actually happening. At 16 weeks, we found out that that I'm having a girl. I'm so excited!

On the down side, a couple unfortunate things have happened with the pregnancy. First, I was experiencing some severe heartburn related pains, and one day it got so bad that I had to make a trip to the ER. The diagnosis: gall bladder stones. I won't get the bladder removed during the pregnancy, but I might have to after I deliver.

I later, and more recently, had my gestational diabetes test. I failed the first test, so I went in for the second test. However, I threw up the glucose drink for the second test, resulting in discontinuing that test. My OB decided that I'll be treated as having Gestational Diabetes, and I do not have healthy blood glucose levels in the morning before I eat, so it only makes sense. My goal is to keep a better eye on my diet for the next couple of months.

So with the gall stones and the gestational diabetes, I'm on a pretty strict diet. Low carbohydrates, no sugar, and low fat. I am also required to exercise for 30 minutes 5 days a week. Sounds nightmarish, right? It kinda is. But I have to make due if I want baby and me to be healthy.

In other news, we've ultimately decided to move when we can to a 2 bedroom apartment at our current complex once one opens up. We will check in January if an opening will occur. We've dismissed looking at houses, for we think our budget wouldn't be able to handle it at this time, but we know what to expect when that time comes again.

Ryan's coming up to the end of his second to last semester with putting in his first semester of hours towards his Senior Project. I've been proud that he's been able to make good progress with it. I hope he keeps working hard until the last day to report his work for the semester. His goal is to get everything done with it before our baby girl makes her appearance, which is smart.

Well, that's all the news for now. We get to watch the new Star Wars movie in a couple of days, which is exciting. I've seen it has gotten really good reviews, which is really encouraging that it will be worth seeing.

Until next time,

Melissa
